Portable emergency battery,
First off this is a battery with a solar charger included. It stores 1500ma and charges at about 150ma-300ma. If your phone or device has a micro-usb connector the usb end of it’s cord can be plugged into one of the cables that come with the unit. The unit also includes several other connectors including mini-usb.
It is great about the size of a playing card and about 1/8″ thick fits into your pocket nice and easy. Don’t think you will be able to use it to replace a full battery charge everyday but can charge your phone about 50% a day. I am able to run my GPS off the battery for about nine hours at a time or for 10 hours of charging which is almost equal charge and use. I will now try charging the unit fully and then using it with the GPS in full sun which should extend the GPS time much more.
This unit is about half the price of other similar units. It is great for camping or charging when the power is out. Do not expect it to charge as fast as direct charging from the plug. Do not expect it to give you a full charge each time you use it. Those are unrealistic expectations. If you are camping for a week and your battery went out the first day you could reasonably expect to be able to use your phone for several hours a day with ten hours of charging. You could also expect to keep your phone charged fully if you used it say 3 or 4 hours a day.
The unit is reasonable well constructed with built in LED flashlight. Handy for the dark. There is an LED on the side which shows how well the solar charger is charging but no indicator showing if the battery is fully charged. If the unit is plugged in the wall a RED LED turns off when the unit is fully charged but that only works with the power connected.
I at first I rated this 5 stars but lowered the rating because of the poor quality cables that came with it. One broke the day I got the battery. The cables that come with the unit are the only ones you can use to charge off of the unit even though it is a mini-usb cable. I would have rated the solar panels and battery itself a 6 star rating because of how well the panel picks up photons from any light source another solar battery I have is almost twice the size and only charges about half as good in direct sun. Also in our direct sun the unit charges much faster than rated maybe as fast as 6 hours I will time it when I get a chance. As I use this unit more I will adjust the rating even more.

|Worked, but not for me,
This device works. I charged it through solar and through USB.
I bought it to charge my phone while camping, but it would not charge my micro USB device.
I tried using the supplied USB-female connector -to- my USB-to-micro USB cord and it did not work.
My guess is that it came with a bad cord because all the other connectors seem to work. Maybe the 5.5v output is not enough juice.
The LED light is average…lumies are comparable to something you would find on a key-ring.
The solar panel has a “screen protector” on it, but it’s bubbly.
It’s a neat product and I would recommend it for someone who spends a lot of time outdoors AND if you have the right plugs.
